Moon Petals

by Gianina D

From the gardens of the moon
white and silver petals fall,
tumble down through leaves
onto our path

I gather flowers of light
in my hands;
pale and trembling
their phantom glow reflects
in your eyes;
on your serene and perfect face

In my hands
I hold petals of the moon,
blossoms of eternity
and I think
until this night
I've never seen the moon at all
